The Rocking Horse Learning Center is located at the foot of the beautiful Nogal Mountains in Carrizozo, New Mexico. The Rocking Horse Learning Center was selected as the top childcare center for New Mexico for 2008. The childcare center was featured on PBS on “A Place of Our Own”. In 2016 we became one of the first five star FOCUS program and we are very committed to quality.
The Rocking Horse Learning Center provides transportation, extended PreK and extended child care for PreK children. Our Prek hours 8:00am-2:30pm Monday thru Thursday. Our program supports early literacy through reading, learning letter sounds, writing, and the use of a print-rich learning environment. Our program supports early mathematics, materials that support scientific discovery and inquiry, as well provides daily creative expression in art, music, dance, and dramatic play.
We have been taking care of Carrizozo children for the past twenty two years. We are very family and community oriented. We provide a safe place for children to grow and learn. We believe that it take a whole community to raise a child.
