McKinley Child Development Center is located at 3401 Monroe St. NE Albuquerque NM 87110 Our program is licensed by the state of New Mexico and our teachers are bilingual (Spanish and English). We provide quality early childhood education with opportunities for the children to explore, experience and develop competence with materials, tools, people, language, ideas, and concepts. Our Early Pre-K program has a partnership with the Early Head Start program, the City’s Preschool program and Pre-K thus we are able to accommodate 3, 4 and 5 year olds in our preschool classroom and 3 year olds in our state Early Pre-K classroom and we are able to refer families to the other programs we offer like Early Head Start and Pre-K.
Our yearly program begins in July and ends the following June. Our calendar schedule is not the same as the Albuquerque Public Schools because our child development center is part of the City of Albuquerque’s Division of Child and Family Development Services. All children that are enrolled in Early Pre-K attend our year-round program. Parents in need of a longer school day can enroll in our extended childcare and education services available before or after the Early Pre-K session. Fees for this service are determined on a sliding scale. Extended care and education services can begin at 7:00 A.M. and end at 5:30 P.M. to accommodate parents’ needs. Our Early Pre-K program strives to provide quality care and education in a safe learning environment that is child-centered with a developmentally appropriate curriculum which includes early literacy, thinking, reasoning, problem solving, fine and gross motor development, language and communication skills, creative development and social-emotional competency.
