Longfellow Child Development Center Pre-K is located at 400 Edith NE Albuquerque NM 87102. The main cross roads are Broadway and Martin Luther King Dr. We are located on the grounds of Longfellow Elementary School. As part of our transition plan for children who will be going to kindergarten the following year, we communicate and collaborate with the elementary staff often and we participate in many school events. Currently we are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
Our yearly program begins in July and ends the following June. Our calendar schedule is not the same as the Albuquerque Public Schools because our child development center is part of the City of Albuquerque’s Division of Child and Family Development Services. All children that are enrolled in Pre-K attend our year-round program. Our Pre-K program strives to provide quality care and education in a safe learning environment that is child-centered with a developmentally appropriate curriculum which includes early literacy, thinking, reasoning, problem solving, fine and gross motor development, language and communication skills, creative development and social-emotional competency.
