Little Folks Day Care offers an environment that fosters love of learning through meaningful relationships and positive experiences. We are committed to providing a nurturing and healthy environment. Little Folks has extended program services to include the New Pilot Early PreK Extended Day Program for 3 year olds and the PreK Extended Day Program for 4 year olds. Little Folks Early Childhood Program strives to provide quality care and education in a safe learning environment that is child-centered with developmentally appropriate curriculum which includes early literacy, thinking and reasoning skills, problem solving, fine and gross motor development, language and communication skills, creative development and social-emotional competency. As part of the NM Prek initiative, we follow a consistent daily routine which incorporates a large amount of time for children to engage in natural play while adults interact with them to challenge their thinking and further their development. We apply developmentally appropriate practices for preschool children’s learning through play and other hands-on activities. The classroom environment is set up with Exploration Centers for math, science, reading, writing, art, and imaginative play. We believe that “parents are the first teachers” We will work with the family in order to promote the positive development of your child. Each child is unique and we will strive to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of “the whole child”.
We offer wrap around care before and after our PreK program times for parents in need of additional care. This year we are also offering transportation services for the 4 year old PreK Extended Day Program due to the large number of families in our service area that do not have available transportation for their child. We hope you have a rewarding experience and enjoy watching your child’s skills develop over the year. If at any time you have questions, feel free to contact your child’s teachers or the center director,
Little Folks’ goal is to prepare your child for successful entry into kindergarten, and to become a successful lifetime learner.
