Provider Description:

Children in Need of Services Inc. (CHINS) has four child development centers located in Alamogordo, New Mexico. We are proud to offer the New Mexico Prek program at our sites for 4 year- old children that may not have access to high quality early childhood experience. We use the NM Prek Early Learning Guidelines and Essential Indicators to design our curriculum and around the individual needs of each child. Each week we send home small projects that parents and children work on together to involve the whole family. We have three parent-teacher conferences each year beginning with the home visit early in the fall to help each child get to know us in their most comfortable environment. We have parent advisory committee meeting quarterly and welcome the participation of all parents. At the end of the year we have a special ceremony to mark this momentous beginning to their educational future.

Our mission is to provide an inexpensive, safe and consistent learning environment for the children of Otero County so that they feel safe and are able to See, Believe, and will Want To Achieve. Our programs provide a structured environment that encourages the childs social, emotional and intellectual success. We promote childrens growth through play, exploration and choices.

CHINS Community Prek has one session with space for twenty children. CHINS Community Prek session is from 8:00 to 2:30. CHINS Community Prek session runs Monday through Friday with wrap around care available for a separate charge. We are located at 1318 14th St. IN THE First Presbyterian Church. Please note that CHINS Community Prek is not affiliated with the church. We opened our doors in 2007 and have continued to grow and expand our Prek Programs throughout our child development centers.
